Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific top-level extension is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming inventive and attractive domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to come back to your website or to give it with colleagues and acquaintances. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the technology sector considering that IT is an abbreviation, which is known around the globe.

Since dot IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this top-level domain extension, such a domain can be obtained through a 3rd-party firm, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can order a dot IT domain for one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our company and we will renew it after the transfer has been finished. The sole requirement is that the person ordering such a domain has to be located in a member state of the EU.

Since there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various territories and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, since they can be registered only by locals.
